Make believe

I unpacked a box of dress up clothes and accessories tonight right before I started to make dinner. Kept the kids busy and out of my way. The dinner guests sure were fancy tonight!

Yes, those are my black satin elbow length gloves Owen has on.  They go well with his pink suede hat, no?

Need a reason to eat out?

Today Chili's restaurants are donating 100% of their profits to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.  I heard about this from Tommy's mom.  So take your family out tonight, and help donate to a great cause!

Road trip

The kids and I drove over to the bay area yesterday to visit our friends who recently relocated there.  We had a great day catching up and seeing their neck of the woods.  Lauren and Evan really missed each other, can you tell?

Toddler Talk

Owen was watching me load the dishwasher tonight after dinner.  As I put the pasta strainer in he pointed to the holes in it and said, "It's missing pieces!  Daddy better fix it!"

Autumn = Soccer

Lauren had her first ever soccer practice today. She was a little frustrated that the coach kept reminding her to not use her hands!

It was a nice surprise to find out her good buddy Alex from preschool is on her team.

Owen just sat with me on the blanket and raided the snack bag while watching his sister sweat it out.

(Lack of) lactose intolerant

This is Owen's reaction when we gave him water tonight at bedtime instead of milk:

Last day of summer

Nothing like ending it with a bang of a BBQ!  Too bad I was too busy laughing (ahem) with my friends to get the camera out to take pictures of all the kids on the trampoline.  And darn, no pictures of Laura on the trampoline!

Note to self: no more parties on Sunday's!  They are officially school nights now, unfortunately.

I'm so excited for the first day of fall tomorrow!  I think it's my favorite season.  I still need to go over to the old house to get all of our holiday decorations out of the garage.

Not too shabby!

I've been carded twice this month, once at the grocery store and once while out with friends.  Being three weeks away from leaving my twenties, that makes my day!  You'd think the two whiney kids would tip the scales, but it's probably just my youthful, forever present pony tail that saves me!

Sunday morning cooking lessons

Hang time

Here's Owen, flanked by McNulty girls Ally and Libby at the park on Friday.  It's just a preview for Prom 2023!  Are you ready, Conor?

Sweet sister

Lauren made this doll of herself at preschool this week and when I asked her what was going on with her mouth she said she was yelling at Owen!

It wasn't just a fluke...

Owen's been using the big boy potty for the last few days.  We just got back from Target where we bought him some Spiderman and Lightning McQueen underwear.  Woo hoo!

Happy 7th Anniversary, my love!

Direct hit, captain!

I just typed out a long explanation, but you probably don't want ALL the details and it really just boils down to this:

This morning was the first time Owen ever agreed to sit on the potty chair and he actually used it!  He was so proud of himself and almost stood up midstream to claim his candy prize.

P.S.
Of course, 10 minutes later he was standing on a bar stool talking to me while I made lunch and peed all over the counter.
