Lauren is a great little artist. She drew this picture of a monkey swinging from a vine and I had to get picture of it.

Our day today
Both kids had today off school so we headed up the road to Apple Hill. It was so nice to go when there wasn't a huge crowd!

Co-sleeping
Shoe tying star
A friend told me that she signed her son up for a shoe tying class at N.ordstrom, so I immediately signed Lauren up, too. It must be a first grade requirement, because everyone is talking about it, no matter what school they go to. We went yesterday morning and it was pretty cute to watch. They gave every kid a C.onverse to practice with, and taught them a rhyme, something about a mountain, yada yada. My girl nailed it! She even got a certificate. We celebrated with a trip to the L.ego store and a ride on the carousel.

First day of first grade
Lauren started school last Wednesday. Here are some shots of our exciting morning.
Bright and early, ready to head out.

Blurry, but still cute.
Walking to class, all smiles.
A real desk this year!
Mrs. Wright was MY third grade teacher. She has not aged in 24 years!
We had Back to School night the evening after this. Sitting in the classroom, in Lauren's desk, and listening to Mrs. Wright was so deja vu for me. I am SO looking forward to this year!
